Company Login Plus a Personal PIN: How Technicians Sign In to the Pest Control App

In pest control, who did the work matters more than in most trades. The application record needs the technician's name and license number. The customer wants to know who was in their kitchen. And when something goes wrong, the owner needs to know which truck was at which house. That all starts with how the technician signs in.

Two Steps, Two Jobs

Getting the app onto the phone is covered in Installing the Pest Control App From the Browser: No App Store Required. Once it is on the home screen, the technician signs in.

Signing in to the PestBossPro tech app takes two pieces. The company login tells the app which business this is. The personal PIN tells it which person is holding the phone. The company login is the same for everyone on your team. The PIN belongs to one technician and nobody else.

Splitting it this way keeps things simple for the people in the field. A technician does not need an email address and a long password they will forget by Thursday. They need the company login, which you can hand out once, and a short PIN they will remember.

Why the PIN Matters for Pest Control

Every action in the tech app is tied to the person who signed in:

That is the reason two technicians should never share a PIN, even on a ride-along. If a trainee is working under a licensed technician, decide in advance whose PIN is on the phone for each stop, and follow whatever your state requires about supervision and who is named on the record. Check your state lead agency's rules for that.

Setting Up a Technician

The office sets up each employee before they ever touch the app. A good employee record includes:

Your business license number is set at the company level, so it appears on every application record without each technician entering it. Truck assignment matters because the dispatch board filters by truck, and the stops assigned to that truck are what the technician sees after signing in.

Picking and Protecting PINs

A PIN is short so it is easy to type with a glove half off. That also means it should not be easy to guess. A few rules worth setting:

It sounds fussy, but the PIN is what stands between the gate codes and alarm notes on your accounts and anyone who picks up a phone left on a tailgate.

When Someone Leaves

Turnover is part of running trucks. When a technician leaves, turn off their access in the office. Their PIN stops working, and they can no longer see stops, notes or gate codes, even if the app is still on their personal phone.

Their past work stays where it was. Completed stops, application records with their name and license number, photos and time clock history remain on the account. That matters if a customer or an inspector asks about a treatment months later.

Compare that to the old way. A technician who leaves takes the printed route sheets, the screenshots of gate codes and the group text history with them. There is no way to take any of it back.

Office Users Are Separate

The tech app is for the field. Office staff sign in to the office side with their own user and role, which controls what they can see and change. An office manager might handle billing and scheduling, while a part-time helper only answers phones and books estimates. Technicians do not need office access to run their route, and keeping the two apart means fewer surprises.

The owner who also runs a truck can do both: sign in to the office from a laptop in the morning, then use the tech app with their own PIN on the route.
